Sometimes patients feel disconnected from their medical care personnel and have more questions about their treatment. As an adjunct to telemedicine, the app allows for the monitoring of progress on specific data, which may be specified by the doctor or nurse.
Mobile technology is touching virtually every aspect of our lives including the field of medicine. The tablet app designed for the individual will help to avoid unneeded office visits, and helps doctors and nurses. The facility version will help medical clinics and hospitals better allocate scarce resources.
Entry of mobile devices in the healthcare arena is a development which is just now emerging. These technologies vary from hand held and pocket size devices, to tablets and notebook computers. Their use is no longer restricted to just front office use, but to the care side of medicine, for providing medical care to patients, monitoring progress, and viewing problem areas.
When the medical center personnel have visibility to shortages, or shortcomings, follow up is more efficient, and saves on cost of providing patient care.
